Lagos, August 14th, 2017
It was another Sunday of excitement, entertainment and tears on The Voice Nigeria as the viewers were kept on the edge of their seats itching to know which Talent will make it through to the Live Shows and which Talent was going home.
#TeamPato kicked off the proceedings with an amazing performance by Syemca and Afolayan who performed ‘Drag me down’ by One Direction. Afolayan was chosen as the winner of the round but in a crazy twist, we saw the remaining Coaches hit their buzzers for a Steal. Patoranking also tried his luck in Stealing back his own Talent, but ultimately Syemca chose #TeamYemi. Ebube battled Grey as they performed ‘Suit & Tie’ by Justin Timberlake with Ebube going through to the Lives and Grey going home.
#TeamTimi’s Kendris and Nwando dueled by performing ‘If love is a crime’ by TuFace, with Kendris emerging as the victor. We also saw Grace and Precious perform ‘When a man loves a woman’ by Michael Bolton with Precious winning the Battle.
#TeamWaje had Wow and Paulyn perform Labrinth’s ‘Jealous,’ a performance that saw Wow getting the nod and moving on to the Lives.
#TeamYemi’s Yimika and Bunmi gave a soulful performance singing ‘Eiye Adaba’ by Asa. Yemi said she was surprised and happy that Bunmi stepped up to the challenge and that was her reason for making her the winner of the Battle and sending her through to the Lives. Yimika also progressed to the Live Show but under a new Coach as both Patoranking and Timi Dakolo tried to Steal him, he now reps #TeamPato.
With only two Steals left in the Battle Episodes, it will be interesting to see which Talent will prove themselves worthy in the sight of the Coaches to warrant a Steal.
