Day 51: The Bring Back Theory

News
20 March 2018
Big Brother thrives on twits, nuts and bolts and the #BBBringBack is just a hotter and spicier one.
Untitled

Right after the Dutch were able to dip into the unknown and explore a format that was centred around the ‘all seeing’ supreme, Big Brother, the model quickly grew wings and flew to the other corners of the globe. Africa was hit hard and thanks to our unique viewing glass and an authentic artistry, we were able to add colour and the sound of the drum to the format. As mentioned before, the newly introduced #BBBringBack twist is new to the African shore but a thing in the US and Canada.

Unbiased and Balanced

On a flat surface view, the potential ‘returnees’ have been exposed to the outside world, the media and have created strategic formulae that might work in their favour in terms of game; again, flat surface view. In reality however, the only difference between current and Ex-housemates is the amount of information at their disposal. The one group know whose been Nominating them but the other doesn’t, the one has established who the strongest contenders are in terms of numbers and the other hasn’t. In terms of the Votes however, the power still lies in the viewer’s hands; immunity is only awarded to Housemate that wins it fairly and Nominations are driven by the Housemates themselves so, the probability of 2 Housemates bringing biased scales to the House are non-existent. To each their own strategy.

3 Sides To The Story

When looking at the show in its entirety and the fact that there are 3 viewing dimensions to it, (Big brother’s, The Housemates’ and the Viewer’s) silently explains just how fitting the image of the eye is. Seeing as perception is everything, the introduction of the new twist came like an unexpected multi-levelled storm, especially when looking at it through the viewer’s looking glass. Upon introduction, others were completely for it and others simply wouldn’t budge. However, the show thrives on twists and turns that cause a type of discomfort that causes the sufferer to change and reposition themselves; adapting and trying to tame themselves for the camera while carrying the burdens brought onto them by, at this point, eight times the drama.

There's More To It

Talking about the plots, twists and turns; the constantly changing dynamics of the show are meant to leave even the viewer a little uncomfortable and lost for words, to say the least. Now slightly away from the halfway mark, the show saw multiple pairings, ‘more than meets the eye’ changes and twists with the HoH challenges, just to mention a few. This twist definitely promises a whole lot of drama, so buckle up because it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
