News
09 June 2017
The talented singer, song writer has been busy so far but we caught up with her to shed some light on what her year has been like so far, and how she hopes to end it off.

Waje (an acronym meaning Words Aren’t Just Enough), as her name implies has been living her life backing up her words with actions. From singing at every opportunity that presented itself, albeit from a very young age, to sharing a stage with some very notable international brands, Waje keeps busy working hard at building her brand and carving a niche for herself in the entertainment circuit.

Waje has been in the studio putting finishing touches to her album as well as making a return to the hit music reality show The Voice Nigeria Season 2, yet she sat down with us for a few minutes to answer some pertinent questions about her 2017. Here’s how it went down;

What has the first part of 2017 been like for you?

The first part of the year has been humbling and rewarding. I must say there's a new fire to do more.

Describe your relationship with your daughter?

Our relationship is both fun and friendly but I also understand that I am first a mum before anything else.

Do you have any new singles dropping soon? Can you tell us a bit about it?

Yes I do have a few singles dropping soon, but I would rather leave it to the element of surprise when you hear them.

What should your fans expect from your next album? Any collaborations for your fans to look out for?

Hahaha. Can we leave it to the element of surprise again? But I can guarantee that it’s definitely going to be a journey worth remembering for anyone who buys or listens to the album.

Can you give us a release date for the album? Or is it a secret?

Yes it’s a secret, except my secret is safe with you oh.

Are there any immediate plans for you after TVN S2?

Yes there are several plans. We shall be touring and playing shows across continents and just exploring newer values I can add to the Waje brand.

What were your biggest lessons from TVN S1 that you’ll take with you into your own music?

The biggest lesson of all is that the audience know exactly what they want and when they see it they'll support it. Shout out to The Voice Nigeria fans.

How does it feel having another female coach (Yemi Alade) on S2 of The Voice Nigeria?

Finally!!!!!  She's such a breath of fresh air, and we are going to have so much fun this season, so make una no miss am oh.

As Waje walked back into studio, being a fly on the wall right now wouldn’t be such a bad idea so as to get a first-hand glimpse on what she is cooking. I guess we would have to wait till the album hits the shelves so we can partake in the journey she has promised. In the meantime though the new season of The Voice Nigeria will premiere soon and Waje will be gracing our screens with her Queenly presence.

Season 2 of The Voice Nigeria premieres on Sunday 18 June at 20:00 CAT on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Ch151) and Africa Magic Urban (DStv Ch153).

In the meantime, stay in touch with us on our official Facebook Fan Page as well as Twitter and Instagram.
