Agent Timi: Sniper Mode Activated!

News
12 July 2017
Coach Timi seems to be on a renewed mission this season of The Voice Nigeria, a move evident in the Talent he has selected for his Team so far.

Season 1 of the hit music Show The Voice Nigeria saw Coach Timi miss out on the Top 2 spots, which were claimed by Coach Waje’s Talent A’rese; and Coach Patoranking’s Talent Chike a close runner up.  With all these in mind, it seems Coach Timi is on a renewed mission to win Season 2 and if we take a closer look at the kinds of Talent he has turned for or tries to lobby to his Team, you begin to see his modus operandi unfold.

Episodes 1 and 2 saw him snap up some big voices. First he snapped up 22 year old Emmanuel Precious, our first inductee into the 4 Chair Company; then Jahtell Ilem who came close, but got 3 chair turns for her effort. Episode 2 saw Coach Timi snap up both 4 chair turns on the night in Daniel Diongoli and Kendris Ologidi.

Episode 3 is where Coach Timi switches gears up a notch. First, he made an almost last second turn for Blessed Eke, and after having to jostle for the Talent to pick him, his next Talent was a tactical acquisition. He feigned disinterest in Godwin Bada’s audition as he waited till literally the last second before hitting his buzzer; he was the only Coach to turn, making it an uncontested acquisition. Smart move.

Episode 4 sees this tactical master employ his scheme even more. After withstanding very hectic ‘marketing and extreme lobbying’ by the other Coaches for classical singer Sandra Osamor; a Talent who first stunned the room to silence as she sang the national anthem and getting 4-Chair-Turns for her effort, Coach Timi went into full sniper mode for his next two Talent. He lurked and waited in the cut till literally the last second before hitting the buzzer for Nwando Okoli, an uncontested move. This strategy seems to be working because he employed it again for the last Talent on the night, Victor Thompson.

Looking at the diversity of the Talent he has already acquired and keeping in mind that he still has five more slots to fill, we just can’t help but wish we could magically fast forward time till next Sunday so as to see what other tricks and gimmicks Coach Timi can conjur up leading to the Battle rounds.
