Today is Day 61 and as they finale draws even closer, we take a quick look at the remaining Housemates and how well they get along with each other with regards to the pet names they have coined for each other.
Bisola is the “Alligator Queen”. A name first coined for her by TTT because of her teeth and the fact that she likes to bite any and every one she plays with.
Ultimate HoH Efe is “Captain Nipples”. This is arguably the most popular moniker in the BBNaija House. This name was given to him by Bisola based on the fact that his baby locks sit on his head like protruding nipples.
TBoss is called “TBust” or “TBux”. Another Bisola creation. The TBust moniker was created for her as an underhanded jibe at her bossom; while TBux is just Bisola switching to one of her numerous accents and pronouncing her name.
Bassey calls himself the ginger area boy, but lately TBux, I mean TBoss has coined the perfect moniker for him; Pepper boy. She noticed how shy he gets when he is faced with amorous attention from the opposite sex, and “he starts smiling and blinking rapidly like he has pepper in his eyes”. All hail the pepper boy!
Bally’s affinity for playing WHOT with the Housemates had earlier earned him the title of “Perpetual finalist”; a moniker given to him by TTT and Efe due to the fact that though he always makes it to the finals in virtually all the card games they play, he never wins. But lately, Bally has earned himself a new title “The Ultimate Kisser”. A title he duly earned by the fact that he has kissed every single female Housemate in the BBNaija House.
Marvis seemed to have flown under the radar for most of the show, but Biggie seemed to have caught her out, calling her “small but mighty” during one of the Friday Night Games. This name aptly describes her as she is a pocket rocket; ready to explode at any minute, as evident when she is faced with competitions. Be it in the Arena, or over a game of WHOT.
Debie-Rise has been teased a few times but none of them have really stuck. “Madam Love” and “Guitar Girl” are the two that really stand out and your guess is as good as ours as to what circumstances may have influenced these monikers. Is it because she is ALWAYS playing her guitar? Or is it because she always sings and talks about love?
There is an age old saying that goes “your name edifies you”; and if this is true, do you think these monikers really edifies or embodies the true persona of the Housemates? Or do we just chalk it off to the natural playfulness of the Housemates and not read any more meanings to it?
