When it comes to style, travel and glamour, East Africa is home to some of the finest designers, landscapes and fashion-forward celebs to be found anywhere in the world. Mashariki Mix captures all this and more and it's brought to you on AfricaMagic Entertainment (151) every Tuesday night at 18:00 CAT and 21:00 CAT.

A 30-minute weekly lifestyle series, the program spotlights great places to shop, eat and celebrate. The contemporary magazine show also profiles the must-know entertainment and social personalities in the region. From musicians and models to television divas and business icons, they’ll all be on Mashariki Mix!

Modern, urban and glossy, the series which checks out everything from leading fashion brands and state-of-the-art tech gadgetry to trendy hotspots and dynamic lifestyles will be hosted by fun Kenyan Big Brother star Nic Wang’ondu. Nic and the series producers will be on the lookout for the freshest trends, hottest stars, coolest accessories, hippest places, VIP parties and much, much more…

Fittingly the tagline for the new show says, “If it’s happening in East Africa, then it’s happening on Mashariki Mix.”

Nic Wang’ondu

Nic Wang’ondu made a big impression as a Big Brother Africa housemate in 2011. But, he’s been involved in the media world for a lot longer. He studied Film and Screen Production at the University of Notre Dame in Western Australia and returned to Kenya, to an internship at Mandala Television.

Nic cut his teeth on M-Net’s The Patricia Show but didn’t hesitate to enter Big Brother Africa when the opportunity presented itself. He says, “my passion has always been to be recognised as an entertainer across the African continent and the only way to achieve this was by getting myself on some sort of pan African platform.”

Aside from presenting the exciting new entertainment and lifestyle show, Mashariki Mix, Nic still involves himself with local productions as well as running a production company with his brother. Ultimately though, he is fulfilling his dream, connecting with the continent, as a television presenter.

Sarah Hasaan

Mashariki’s beautiful Swahili presenter, Sarah Hasaan, has been acting since she was in nursery school, and starred in her first movie, Family Betrayal, after graduating from high-school.

She followed her film success with an award-winning role in the hit series, Tahidi High. Her portrayal of a morally upright you woman garnered her two CHAT Awards. She was also recently cast as a nurse in the medical drama series, Saints and can currently be seen as Liza in M-Net’s popular weekly drama, Changes.

Sarah has emceed a number of events and will also be familiar to fans of the dance show, Sakata.
