Nick Mutuma

NickAMNick Mutuma is a dimpled radio host, recording artist, model and actor, and now presenter of Mashariki Mix alongside the vivacious Sarah Hassan.

Says he: “I feel great. It’s a huge platform to talk to Africa. I’m bringing swag to that show one hundred percent and more adventure. I want to show guys a hidden side of Africa.”

The fair skinned jack-of-all-trades who has appeared on M-Net series Changes as well as the Shuga series hopes to infuse fresh energy into the 30-minute show. And, enjoy the ride while he’s at it.

“We’re trying to take this show international so definitely more trips abroad; to show that Africans are doing big things no matter where they are,” he says.

Nick and Sarah are no strangers to each other having worked at the same radio company hosting the late night and breakfast shows respectively.

Nick stated that, though he loved acting, there’s always something about talking directly to people that greatly appealed to him.

Nic Wang’ondu

Nic Wang’ondu made a big impression as a Big Brother Africa housemate in 2011. But, he’s been involved in the media world for a lot longer. He studied Film and Screen Production at the University of Notre Dame in Western Australia and returned to Kenya, to an internship at Mandala Television.

Nic cut his teeth on M-Net’s The Patricia Show but didn’t hesitate to enter Big Brother Africa when the opportunity presented itself. He says, “my passion has always been to be recognised as an entertainer across the African continent and the only way to achieve this was by getting myself on some sort of pan African platform.”

Aside from presenting the exciting new entertainment and lifestyle show, Mashariki Mix, Nic still involves himself with local productions as well as running a production company with his brother. Ultimately though, he is fulfilling his dream, connecting with the continent, as a television presenter.

Sarah Hasaan

Mashariki’s beautiful Swahili presenter, Sarah Hasaan, has been acting since she was in nursery school, and starred in her first movie, Family Betrayal, after graduating from high-school.

She followed her film success with an award-winning role in the hit series, Tahidi High. Her portrayal of a morally upright you woman garnered her two CHAT Awards. She was also recently cast as a nurse in the medical drama series, Saints and can currently be seen as Liza in M-Net’s popular weekly drama, Changes.

Sarah has emceed a number of events and will also be familiar to fans of the dance show, Sakata.
