Love or loathe him, Jim Iyke is a superstar. Now, for the first time ever, he invites DStv audiences into his world to get to know the man behind the headlines, thanks to his new reality TV series Jim Iyke: Unscripted

From April 18, by simply tuning in to AfricaMagic Entertainment you can get an up close and exclusive look into his glamourous yet controversial life. Join the famous actor as he promotes his latest movies while delving into the competitive world of men’s fashion and follow him as he manages the demands that come with his huge popularity, busy schedule and outspoken personality.

Filmed in Lagos, Abuja, Accra, Houston, Dubai, Nairobi, Amsterdam and London, a new episode of Jim Iyke: Unscripted will be screened every Thursday (18:30/21:00 CAT) for 13 weeks.

Talking about the series, its leading man says, ‚Äúits no holds barred, unscripted and untamed‚ÄĚ. Meanwhile series producers iFactory Live, Greyology Inc. and OH Africa describe Jim Iyke: Unscripted as very real, giving fans a free pass into Jim‚Äôs life. No doubt, Jim Iyke is one of the most popular, successful and most recognized faces in the Nigerian movie industry, the second largest movie industry in the world, making Jim's international reach almost unmatched as an African icon.

The Nollywood ‚Äúbad boy‚ÄĚ, as he is popularly called was born on Sept 25, 1976 in Libreville, Gabon, to a Nigerian family of Mr and Mrs Stephen Esomugha. His parents hail from Enugu Agidi village in Anambra state, Nigeria.

After his primary and secondary education, Jim attended the University of Jos, for his tertiary education.

Career

Jim Iyke started his acting career in 2001 and currently he is one of the highest paid actors in the Nigerian movie industry, he is also one of the most successful having starred in over 200 movies to date.

Since launching his own film production company  - Untamed Productions, Jim has used his experience to successfully release his own films as a producer through which he has enjoyed great acclaim from his fans at home and abroad.

Presently, Jim is working on his mega reality TV show, Jim Iyke: Unscripted, the first of its kind, filmed on locations around the world by iFactory Live and aired on Africa Magic and Entertainment.

Unscripted gives Jim's fans across the diaspora undiluted access to his life.

The TV show which is executive produced by international producer & director Michael Djaba (LL Cool J,Estelle etc)  and multi award winning management company Greyology Inc. who have also been responsible for developing projects and careers of International celebrities such as Usher, AR Rahman, Leona Lewis and JLS among others, gives a unique insight into the incredible global appeal and achievements of the enterprising Nigerian star outside the make-believe realms of Nollywood.

Realising Jim's undeniable reach with Africans across the diaspora, advertising agencies, film directors and producers from USA to Europe beckon as major brands seek endorsements and he is set to star a lead role in  My Life Of Crime - a film based on a best selling book and true story to be directed by Canadian Neil Schell and filmed in Kenya in October 2013.

Well known for his stylish attire, Jim launched his own exclusive clothing range, Untamed Closet and a debut album, titled Who Am I? through his own music label. In his album, he featured some of Nigeria’s most successful musicians such as TuFace Idibia and Sound Sultan. However, the greater part of the proceeds from this album was donated to orphanages.

Charity

Apart from being a professional film actor, producer, musician, and businessman, Jim Iyke is a philanthropist and founder of the Jim Iyke Foundation, a non-governmental organisation aimed at educating and empowering underprivileged children as well as children with special disabilities in the African society

It is with this noble intention that he also teamed up with other international stars such as Jamaican artists Cecile and Mavado and others from the worlds of music, film, sports and fashion to give scholarships and support charitable initiatives for the 'Make A Change Campaign' in education, healthcare, youth economic development and clean water programmes across Africa.

The charitable campaign leads to a major televised, multi artist 'Make A Change' benefit concert at Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi, Kenya, coming in September 2013.
