Highlights With IK: OAPs and all that jazz

Ever wondered what life would be like without On Air Personalities (OAPs), especially when you think about how much time you spend in traffic.

On this episode of Highlites With IK, we get to interact with on air personalities, get a feel of what they do and how it’s done.

OAPs are unique in their deliveries, with some having American accents that they got from going to either Ghana, South Africa or even Spain. Eyo and Dallas trash out this issue of funky accents, how Africa got to this point and how it has become par for the course in the industry.

We get to learn a few weird, but true facts from Chico, in a segment we call 'Did you know', before guests Yaw and Dan Foster speak to IK. The show will then close off with a not-to-be-missed performance from Ade Piper.

Don't miss HighlitesWithIK, tonight at 21:15 CAT on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv channel 151).

Host, Comedy Club: Live in Lagos.

Charming and sexy, IK Osakioduwa is well known across the continent as host of the reality show Big Brother Africa.

This University of Lagos economics graduate began his broadcast career as the “Wild Child” on the Nigerian radio station Rhythm 93.7 FM, but it wasn’t long before the ever dynamic IK soon branched out into television as the presenter on M-Net’s flagship Afro-Chic lifestyle programme, Studio 53.

Although IK has also presented the Nigerian game show Temptation Nigeria and is currently presenting the stand-out stand-up series Comedy Club: Live In Lagos, he credits his role on Big Brother Africa as the opportunity that’s “done marvels for my career”.

He says, “BBA was the first show I’d done of this magnitude, it was amazing to be in 40-million homes across Africa all at once. At first it’s super intimidating, but you get used to it before the end of the season,” he admits modestly, and now with three seasons under his belt, keeps coming back for more!
