Fena and Kagwe are going Dutch

By Laura Walubengo

Musician Fena has decided to go Dutch with her latest single after the success of her track Africa Massive, released last July.

The solo artist, who is not signed to any label, teamed up with Kagwe Mungai and Toshi. The young singer, who has shared a stage with US neo soul diva Vivian Green, has found her niche in house tracks which spread faster than her previous more soulful sound.

Dutch talks about who should foot the bill on the first date, the interested man or the empowered woman or should they just pay for themselves – aka go Dutch.

Kagwe studied music in Southampton University in the UK but only to fine-tune an innate skill that saw him teach himself how to play a number of instruments, including the saxophone.

Though already working on his second album, the 22-year-old’s biggest break was in November last year, when he graced the stage at the monthly Blankets and Wine Festival.

The song is thriving on the airwaves barely two weeks after it was released via YouTube.
