Following a successful movie premiere and press screenings, producers of the Kunle Afolayan comedic-drama Phone Swap are set to take it up a notch by pushing out a theatrical release.
The disclosure which was made by Golden Effects Pictures coincided with news that the premiere train is heading for Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Uyo.
Residents in Ghana will also have the opportunity to watch the four-time African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) nominated movie, as a premiere will take place at Silverbird Cinemas, Accra on 5 April, 2012.
The fun doesnât stop there, as Kunle Afolayan who produced the movie will spend Easter Sunday and Monday with his fans as the movie hits the screens at the National Theatre, Iganmu where his fatherâs movies used to show in the 80s.
Phone Swap which features the likes of Nollywood hottie Nse Ikpe-Etim and Wale Ojo has been nominated for AMAA categories âAchievement in Production Designâ, âPrize for Best Nigerian Filmâ, âPrize for Best Actor in a Supporting Roleâ and âPrize for Best Actor in a Leading Roleâ at the eighth edition of the awards which will be held in April.
Phone Swapâs meet and greet in Abuja
On 1 April, 2012, fans of Kunle Afolayan's new film, Phone Swap, had a chance to meet the actors and film maker at Abuja's Silverbird Entertainment Centre. The meet and greet which was slated for 16:00, started almost two hours late.
The fans probably thought they were being set up for an April Fool's gag because their presence was registered at best, in trickles of ones and twos, giving Nse Ikpe-Etim a chance to pop into one of the theatre halls where she watched Phone Swap with her fans.
