Risin’ star of the week: Ijeoma

This hardworking young lady quit her day joy to concentrate on her budding music career.
Name: Ijeoma Daisy Okwara
From: Imo state, Nigeria
Music genre:  R ‘n’ B
Day job: Worked with Telecoms giant, Globacom FROM 2009 before quitting in December 2011 to concentrate on her music.
The Trigger: Ijeoma started singing during her secondary school days in Owerri, Imo State as a student of Ikenegbu Girls Secondary School. Her membership of the school’s choral group provided her her first stage.
Big break: Her break into the Nigerian music industry came in the 2008 edition of MTN's Project Fame. Even though she didn’t make it into the prize categories, she has kept on with music and utilised the platform granted her by that competition.
Songs and albums: Ijeoma has released three songs: “Oloomi,” “Love in the Air” featuring Vector and “Take My Hands.”
Videos: “Oloomi” and “Love in the Air” both directed by Dudutoonz.
Favourite producers: She admires Don Jazzy but has worked with Del B and Gray Jon’z.
Label: No label affiliation at the moment but she is managed by Dudutoonz aka Matthias Aragbada.
